Ceremony Decorations

Ok, so I understand with having an outside ceremony that the scenery will be decoration enough, but I still want to have a little something something there to spruce it up. So along the aisle there will be "kissing balls" hanging. My mom was going to make these out of flowers and they were going to cost about $6-$9 a piece, plus the shipping from Montana to Cedar Falls.

Well well, looking online I found these little guys, and they will only be $2 a piece! SO FAB! I am going to do burnt orange and chocolate brown. Now I just need to find Shepherd Hooks! Keep your eyes open for me please!

Mr and Mrs Nathan Jones 10/13/2012

So, I absolutely LOVE this idea of planning a wedding. I wish that it was just my full time job for the next 14 months. I love talking about it and having people give me ideas and feed back, so I thought this would be the perfect way.

So yes, the title of this blog is Planning a Platinum Wedding on a Bronze Budget. I would never want to have an over the top extravagant wedding, because I have more piratical things to spend that kind of money on. I have big ideas though, and I want so many things, so I am having to learn how to do them within the budget that we have. Some things are important and some things just aren't that important and I'm learning to be ok with that.

So our wedding is October 13, 2012. Our budget is about $10,000 (give or take with the deposits). Our ceremony will be an outside ceremony at Hickory Hills in La Porte City, IA. There is a lodge on the grounds that over looks Casey Lake. The chairs will be in front of the lodge facing the lake.

The reception will be at Elks Lodge in downtown Waterloo. It will be a formal reception, with plated meals and a full dance.

So, as I figure things out, I will post them on here because I have gotten so much help from other people's blogs that I thought maybe a bride down the line can get help from my blog!
